18 June 2013 - Issue #27

I see the flags are being raised in preparation for Canada Day!  There is always a BIG celebration in Central Park on July 1st and the Legion will be there in living colour to get your lunch ready as usual, always a hot dog and soda with our Piper, Charlie King providing the background music-to-dine by.  So wear your red and white summer togs and wave your flag Ė ITíS A BIRTHDAY PARTY!

There is another Perch Dinner coming up on Friday, July 12th, starting at 4:30 and running to 7:00 pm or until quantities last.  It is still only $15.00 per person and take-out is available at the back door.

With the arrival of summer and the open door policy of the Legion, we expect it to be a busy summer.  The patio is open and you will see some new projects underway.  President Garry is never at a standstill, so drop in and share the enthusiasm.  The Wednesday skater/singers are still meeting every Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 and I am pleased that we had some new visitors this week, three ladies from Hagersville and three from the Ancaster/Dundas area.  Word certainly gets around doesnít it?  It must be the piano playing of Marie and Betty; somehow I donít think it is our singing!

Until next week, keep those cards and letters coming!
