thanks go out to the community for your generosity during
our Annual Poppy Campaign and to the many volunteers that
made it happen. We
are approaching $17,000 and still counting.
As you may already know, it all finds its way back
into the community through our donations to the Hospital,
Veteransí care facilities, Meals on wheels, volunteer
associations and many more.
It will touch us all someday and we will be glad we
honoured our veterans and made our contributions to the
Remembrance Day was a busy
one for everyone at the branch, the Colour Party leading
the march to the Cenotaph were as handsome as ever despite
the blustery weather and the turn-out for the ceremony was
is always a nice lunch ready for the participants upon
their return, lovingly set out by the Ladiesí Auxiliary
who have traditionally kept the home-fires burning and
although most of us canít make the walk to the cenotaph
anymore, we find many ways to honour our Vets,
One of them is the preparation of our Veteransí
Remembrance Dinner. It
was a great evening, plenty of food and camaraderie
followed by honours and awards.
By the time you read this, we
will be setting up for our final Perch Dinner of the year;
Friday, November 22nd.
We are starting a little earlier, 4:00 pm to 7:00
pm due to the early setting sun.
It will get cold for the crew working at the back.
This will be our last Perch Dinner until Good
Friday, 2014. Of
course there will always be great dinners served in the

The Christmas season is a
busy time at the branch with the Kidís Christmas Party
on December 15th, the Turkey Raffle on December
20th and our New Years Eve Party to ring in
